Summer Junior Singles League

Tennis Saves is thrilled to introduce the opening of the Singles League for junior players aged 11 to 17. It runs for nine weeks from June 19th through the week of August 18th, with semi-final Playoffs on August 21st and 28th for those who play at least five matches. Matches occur at Allendale Columbia school, 7-9pm, Monday through Thursday evenings. We've partnered with Universal Tennis Ratings (UTR) to ensure accurate player ratings, eliminating age and gender biases. Players face opponents of varying ages and ratings. Weekly recaps and match scheduling notifications will be provided, focusing on punctuality and good sportsmanship. Please remember that parents are there to promote good sportsmanship and not interfere with the matches.

The Rochester Junior Tennis Grand Prix has been a cornerstone of the local tennis community since 1990, providing juniors with affordable and meaningful match play opportunities. It brings together clubs, schools, parks, and universities with the shared goal of developing young players through competition. Players are grouped by level, to ensure fair and competitive matches. The tournament format features round robin play followed by playoffs, allowing players to gain experience while progressing through divisions. Participants earn points for both participation and performance, building toward qualification for the end-of-summer Masters Tournament. With events held across the Greater Rochester Area, the series remains accessible and inclusive for all players, continuing to play a vital role in shaping the next generation of competitive tennis players.

Tennis Saves is thrilled to offer the Greater Rochester Area's juniors a chance to participate in our Fall Classic Series of UTR-Verified Singles Matchplay Events, taking place at The Harley School every Sunday from 9/10 to 10/29. These UTR-Verified Matchplay events are divided into two groups (11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.) and cost $22 to register, with a reduced fee of $10 for UTR Power Subscription holders. Open to juniors aged 11-17 with UTR ratings between 1.0 and 6.0, each participant can engage in two verified matches featuring two short-sets to four with no-ad scoring and a 10-point tiebreak for the third set. With a maximum of 20 players allowed, slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and group times are assigned accordingly. In case of odd numbers, the last registrant will be waitlisted and notified of eligibility. Matches will be held outdoors at The Harley School, and contingency plans are in place for possible rain. If the event is canceled, refunds will be promptly issued.

Tennis Saves is excited to offer the Greater Rochester Area juniors a chance to participate in UTR-Verified Singles Indoor Matches at Salmon Creek Country Club in Spencerport on Saturday, 4/15/2023, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. This event is open to juniors aged 11-17 with UTR ratings between 3.0 - 6.0, accommodating a maximum of 12 players. Registration beyond the first twelve will be waitlisted. Participants will engage in two verified 2 out of 3 short-set matches with no-ad scoring and a 10-point tiebreak for the third set. Group times will be assigned, and all players will receive email notifications with start times. Please confirm your email receipt and arrive promptly at the indoor facility at the Salmon Creek Country Club in Spencerport.

Players will engage in two verified matches featuring two short sets to four with no-ad scoring and a 10-point tiebreak for the third set. The number of groups will depend on registrations, with a maximum of 20 players. Be ready to compete and check your email for updates on group assignments. Matches will take place outdoors, but contingency plans are in place for possible rain. In case of cancellation, refunds will be issued promptly.

Join us for an exciting UTR Game N Play at the Tennis Club of Rochester on Friday, October 27th, 2023, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. This event is exclusively for juniors aged 11 to 17 who have not yet received a UTR rating but are ready to start competing, with a maximum UTR of 3.0. Participants should have the ability to serve in play and consistently hit groundstrokes and volleys. The format includes short-set matches and a fun game court run by a tennis pro for tactical variations of singles and doubles games. Designed to provide valuable experience and build UTR, this event is open to the first 10 registrants, with waitlist options available. Note that registration is subject to UTR standing, and punctuality is crucial for matches held at an indoor clay-court facility.
